Acid phase digestion pre-treatment results in increased production of biogas with higher removal rates of volatiles as compared to standard anaerobic digestion technologies.
Hydroflux Epco has provided a number of BioCap® units with diameters as small as 7m for these applications.
For this application BioCap® is provided inclusive of:
- Pressure/vacuum relief systems
- Concrete ballasts
- Inspection manholes
- Sample valves
Typically these digesters are fitted with :
- pH probes
- Temperature monitors
The waste gas is generally flared as it is of a lower quality as compared to the main gas produced in the second stage mesophilic digesters. In the general the scope we provide is similar to the single stage anaerobic digesters but with small covers and gas flares.
