Helping to Secure Water Quality for the Longest River in New Zealand’s South Island
August 13, 2021
Hydroflux Epco NZ has been awarded the supply of six HUBER Spiral Screens by Clutha District Council.
The screens will be installed at six different sewage treatment plants and form part an upgrade to enable council to meet their resource consent and local iwi cultural heritage requirements for environmental discharge into the culturally significant Clutha River, the longest river in NZ’s South Island.
“This shows the significant role we can play in helping our clients address the water quality crisis and achieve swimmable river quality objectives.
The HUBER Ro9 Spiral Screens will remove gross solids from the inlet of the treatment plant that would otherwise accumulate in the downstream process, leading to process upsets and comprising the discharge water quality to the environment.
Our technology is well proven in New Zealand and we have just delivered similar projects in the North Island” says Orod Roostaee, General Manager of Hydroflux Epco NZ.
HUBER Ro9 Spiral Screens are used to remove plastics, gross solids and fines from sewage and industrial wastewater. They are an ideal solution for treatment plants with capacities up to 15,000 EP as the screen can be installed into pre-fabricated stainless steel tanks which significantly reduces site construction timelines.
